I'll start some random notes about that properties dialog here.
It's not meant as wishlist or urgent in any way - rather, collecting some
thoughts for discussion.
#1 Showing count of included folder/files in a folders properties ?
I know we can get that by entering a folder. OTOH this information is not
requested in most situations, and always leads to a small delay. For example
i've a fast SATA but still entering /usr/share/doc needs some seconds, it has
1413 subfolders by now.
If a user requests the info explicitly via ALT ENTER then of course she would
be ok with waiting some seconds.
