Oops... /s/menu/mouse button (RMB)/

I attached screenshot with terminal icon visible both at toolbar and popup menu.

That's strange

        <control>s=command.open_terminal

works like a charm for me. Do you have the proper version installed?

If you enter ls > xxx and then Shift+Enter, where xxx file created? in
~ ?
