I can get an internal meeting in IBM
South Bank for Wednesday - any time after 2pm.
(I'd need names confirmed etc as its
inside our secure area rather in our customer area so if anyone has an
alternative it may be a little less hassle)
BTW my penny's worth:
I think the key issues are open standards
to promote:
1) competition and drive value up and price
down
2) choice
3) innovation
Ability to use open source is the 'proof
point' that systems comply, standards are truly open and non discriminatory
and identifies any market distortion.
One item in discussion so far that causes
me some concern is using a public sector target as 'cause
célèbre' as was suggested.
It will put the department question as both policy lead and defensive and
of course we'd have potential customer sensitivities. Hence I suggest
for any discussion on strategy we'd need to go into some idea of tactics
too.
Regards
