Yes - this is a very real problem. To "skype" is now a verb, meaning to talk
over the internet.
However, it can be overcome (with time and effort). eg. Nowadays, most people
"hoover" their carpet with a vacuum cleaner that isn't made by Hoover.
Since people are probably not going to use "voip" as a verb - it might be
easier to embrace the word skype to the extent that the company, in effect,
loses the battle to keep it as their unique trademark.
