In my mind, they are. (If they aren't obtrusive, brash, offtopic or one 
a week from the same person)

I just wish more free software orientated jobs were pushed to the free 
software community.

My boss wasn't even aware that there *were* communities or relevant 
groups he could have pushed the details to.
In retrospect, it's surprising he found anyone useful at all though now 
I'm there, I don't think we'll have this problem. :)
