Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am currently an undergraduate Student at the University of St Andrews
and have realised after my change from Germany that "Stallman's word" has
not spread as far as I expected (measured on German standards).
To my disappointment I have realised that GNU/Linux or any other free OS
or software is widely unknown, let alone any support in these matters.

Based on my strong conviction that software and an operating system has to
be free ("as in freedom") - even though I am not an IT student myself - I
intend to start an initiative not only rise the level of popularity of
GNU/Linux but also to sharpen the awareness of the issue.

Henceforth I would be very grateful if you could give me some advice on
how to start such an initiative and based on your experience and I would
also appreciate suggestions which layout of the initiative would be most
appropiate and potentially successful.

Yours sincerely,

Bernd
