[Freetype] most stable release?

I've just subscribed to this mailing list. I'm doing a project on FreeType at my university, and i'd be needing help from you people, and i'd be grateful if i can get any.

 

I want to use the most stable release of FreeType. Which's it? and from where can i download it?
