The name `FT_ENCODING_ADOBE_CUSTOM' (you should actually use the
uppercase variants) makes sense.  It is specific to PostScript fonts
and indicates atmost 256 glyphs in an arbitrary encoding.  And Adobe
is the inventor of PostScript...
