[Freetype] helvB08-ISO8859-1.pcf

Using version 9.2.3

Trying to use this font
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/helvB08-ISO8859-1.pcf
in my application (opengl amaya browser/editor), 
I got segfault as most bitmap have the same pitch (4) but normal height and 
width sometimes (height-1*pictch > width*height), so when I copy the bitmap 
using the pitch my app segfaults...

Is it a known problem, is there a workaround ?
