I wonder what the difference is between the way the Apple interpreter (Quartz) deals with prep commands in iOS (shredded fonts) compared to the way Quartz interprets a prep table in OSX (not shredded fonts)?
And also, what's happening in the interpretation of a fonts prep table under Adobe's OSX versions of inDesign, Illustrator etc, that the Adobe app overrrides the OSX system interpreter.

the scope of storage area elements.
