Verdana at 9 pixels high looks exactly like the "good" image in
'gwaterfall' running freetype 2.1.7-2.1 (debian unstable).

This is the Verdana which is downloadable for free, I even verified with
lsof that gwaterfall really was using this font. Now, I'll grant that 8
pixels looks terrible; that's a size which has no
(gwaterfall is available from my CVS repository at http://keithp.com)
