I think you should add a 'grays_raster_render' function to 2.0.6 and leave
the version at 8:0:2. One question is whether you should use -release
instead of -version-info for libtool; libtool does different things on
different operating systems yielding a confusing set of library version
numbers. 7:0:1 generates:
.6.1.0 on Linux and Darwin
.7.1 on Freebsd-aout
.7 on Freebsd-elf
sgi6.1:sgi6.0 on irix
6.1.0:6.0 on osf
.7.1 on sunos
-6 on windows
8:0:2 will generate even more confusing names...
