A lot of drivers aren't actually listed under the OSS part of the
kernel, but in fact use the OSS API. There aren't really many other
choices except ALSA of course.

I think the original purpose of that task was to see if it had better
performance than using floating point (on x86 based CPUs it doesn't
provide any significant performance improvement, IIRC). So the only
reason to write an integer based port at this point is for embedded
FPU-less devices. This could be a really cool target platform though.
