This is very strange. Which version of g++ did you used? I have just tried, 
from scratch (using anonymous cvs), with version 3.2 and 3.3 (Debian 
versions) and it works for me.

By the way the '--enable-vtk' option is not really used at the moment. It will 
not provide you any tool. It is just a debugging tool we use from time to 
time.
