[Fab-user] Is there a way to perserve the file permissions of a 'put' file?

I've noticed that 'put' uses the paramiko.sftp_client code to put files,
and it apparently doesn't preserve the permissions of the file.  So
putting a shell scripts requires a following
"run('chmod +x path/to/script.sh')".

Or am I missing something?
