Hi,
I am in the middle of writing up my thesis and hence the reason for this
email... I also maintain ePiX for Gentoo when I have the time.
I think there is an error in the documentation and it nearly made me give up
on ePiX for plotting histograms. The documentation lists n (the number of
bins) as being the third optional argument. This appears to have been changed
(found the entry in the ChangeLog too) but the documentation has not been
updated. It is now the first optional argument.
As I was starting with a low of 0 I just ended up with NaN errors. I was also
wondering if you had, or plan to add a histogram function which does not
scale the area under the histogram to unity? I work with particle counts and
stuff like that and we prefer having an idea of scale for a given number of
bins. May be a final optional argument of scaled, default to true to maintain
current behaviour? I have patched my local version but this seems like an easy
change to implement.
May be I have missed the correct way of doing this. If so sorry, but one or
two examples of data plotting in the examples book would also be great for us
physicists who would like to use ePiX :) Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Marcus
