Sorry about taking this way off topic- I just started using eMacs, and
am really brand new to Linux as well. None the less, I assume that as I
apt-get installed from the repositories at Ubuntu to get my emacs21,
that I am going to need to do a bit more work to get TRAMPS, so that I
can edit as a superuser.

I'm probably also going to need a person to interpret many of the
manual entries for me at first as I have been baffled at how to set up
gnus or any other newsreader for emacs ( I want to move my IMAP
newsgroups from college into emacs and link the work that we do there
to the wiki sites that all maintained by planner. There I got back on
topic!)

Thanks.
