I've adapted it and added it to the /contrib directory in the Muse
development tarball as muse-latex2png.el.

Publishing embedded MathML from LaTeX would be too time-consuming,
unless we had an external program to do the conversion. I haven't
looked into it, so there could be a program that accomplishes this.
