Where is it interfering? I had trouble with the unfinished task
status underscores being interpreted during publishing because "#A1 _ "
would become "<span ...>#A1 _</span>". The "_</span>" then looks like
the beginning of an underlined phrase. Adding a space ("_ </span>")
fixed that. Would a similar fix help in your situation?
