I don't quite understand your question.
Are you saying that planner-diary erased content on your day page
outside of what was in your "*Diary" section?

No. I didn't have content on my day page outside the *Diary section.
All the content for my day page resided in the *Diary section. It was
this content that was eliminated. So my question was, "Is this a bug
or a feature?"
Did I mention that I'm a Planner newbie? :-)
