In theory, they should probably not be any different, but a plan
can be considerably messed up by other things coming in ("Could
you do this by yesterday"?), and to revise a planning, the
deadlines are important.  That's why I'd like to give them a
special status.

Yes, I am.  The "problem" is that if they're stored as diary
entries, you don't really see them until it's perhaps too late,
as well as the fact that you cannot get them out, unless perhaps
they're marked with "deadline" or so (then they could be
grep'ed).

It's an option.  The problem is that I have many projects (or
subprojects), all with different deadlines.  Within one project,
I'd be happy to define them as tasks.  Having many projects (many
of them with rather fuzzy boundaries), I'd like the possibility
of viewing all deadlines together, chronologically sorted.

I don't think it should be very fancy.  I'm more trying to think
(aloud) of how one could go about it.  Whereas I was first
imagining an extra section on a project page (* Deadlines), I'm
now tending towards an annotation (#D1 or #X0; or {{Deadline}};
or ...) because they're probably more task-like.
