Hello!
The file names in Mac OS X are decomposed UTF-8. GNU Emacs 23 finally
is able to (re-)compose the glyphs -- in a very ugly way! Is there no
way to check a font or fontset first whether it has the precomposed
glyphs in it for use? These look much better! Here is an example with
file names having inaccurately set diacritics of the wrong shape and
size and a month name in Calendar, all in Adobe Courier 14pt:
In GNU Emacs 23.0.0.1 (powerpc-apple-darwin7.9.0, X toolkit, Xaw3d
scroll bars)
of 2005-05-21 on localhost
Distributor `The XFree86 Project, Inc', version 11.0.40300000
configured using `configure '--without-carbon' '--with-x'
'--without-pop' '--with-xpm' '--with-jpeg' '--with-tiff' '--with-png'
'--with-gif' '--with-x-toolkit=lucid' 'CFLAGS=-I/sw/include'
'CPPFLAGS=-I/sw/include' 'LDFLAGS=-L/sw/lib''
