You are saying it worked in Emacs 28, but doesn't work in Emacs 29?

Why are you using both :name and :weight/:slant/:size?  What happens
if you try this instead:

 (dolist (charset '(kana han symbol cjk-misc bopomofo))
   (set-fontset-font t charset "Microsoft Yahei"))
