You are not, so you don't need to apologize.

These two packages being in obsolete/ doesn't mean no one is using
them: as long as font-lock-support-mode exists, someone could still
use them, although I agree that the chances of that are very low, to
say the least.  That is why IMO we cannot delete them without first
obsoleting font-lock-support-mode, so that Emacs warns any of its
users, because if someone loads these packages by hand, they don't get
any warning, and might think they can continue using them forever.
