Thank you very much for solving the mystery as to the segfault -- greatly
appreciated!!!
I agree that merely skipping over that section of code in this situation is not
a good idea. Now that a reliable test exists, I can begin working on devising
a method to redraw the fake cursors along the tab stretch after it gets drawn
anew.
