Its perfectly legitimate to call on the aid of OS X programmers to help
improve the OS X port. That in no way detracts from your organizational
focus
on GNU/Linux.
YOU can say that if you want. What you shouldn't do is recruit them
in the name of the GNU Project -- for instance, saying "EMACS NEEDS
YOU to fix OS X-related bugs."
