In an xterm, start Emacs with:
$ emacs -nw -Q --eval "(server-start)"
In another xterm, do:
$ emacsclient a
and it immediately asks:
Buffer `a' still has clients; kill it? (yes or no)
This does not happen if you invoke emacsclient with the "-t" option or
emacs (built using --with-x) without the "-nw" option.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.50.1 (i386-apple-darwin8.11.1, X toolkit)
of 2007-12-04 ...
Windowing system distributor `The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.60802000
configured using `configure '--with-x' '--without-carbon' '--without-tiff'
'--without-gif''
