What is the status of this? `cursor-chg.el' is a library that does this. It
defines command `toggle-cursor-type-when-idle', which toggles this behavior.
It also defines a minor mode, `change-cursor-mode', which optionally does
either of the following:
. changes the cursor shape on overwrite or when a buffer is read-only
. changes the cursor color when you use an input method
How about adding this library (modulo integration changes, such as removing
Emacs-20 compatibility code)?
