And your counterargument is a contrived example.
Even if you were right, that's a matter of the regexp used to match
the contents. Perhaps for GIFs it's not very good, but as I've said,
I'd like to see a real-world .c file with a PNG or TIFF header (or
even a real-world .c file with a GIF header, instead of your
proof-of-concept).
