When starting Emacs after the compile today I got this message: Warning (initialization): Building Emacs overflowed pure space. (See the node \ Pure Storage in the Lisp manual for details.) I have never seen this before, what has happened?
After a `cvs update' on Sunday morning, I got the same thing. I increased the amount of memory (by 605500 bytes) allocated in `src/puresize.h' and did `make clean; make bootstrap' and everything was fine. I'm guessing that Emacs needs more memory because more files are being loaded upon initialization (?). -- Ralph Moritz < ralphm @ members . fsf . org > Ph: +27/0 317 055 268 (home) +27/0 846 269 070 (mobile) "All this worldly wisdom was once the unamiable heresy of some wise man." - Henry David Thoreau
