24.0.50; "C-s M-p" does not bring the tip of the search ring |

Hi,
I sometimes want to search for some text that I know is already in the
search ring, but I'm unsure if it is at the tip.
In these cases, I intuitively do "C-s M-p", expecting to get precisely
the last search string used, i.e., the tip of the search ring. But I
fact M-p brings me the second entry.
IMO, "C-s M-p" should bring the _first_ (more recent) entry.
In GNU Emacs 24.0.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
of 2011-07-25 on 3249CTO
Windowing system distributor `Microsoft Corp.', version 5.1.2600
configured using `configure --with-gcc (4.5) --no-opt'
