Any standard-compliant C++ compiler should work, but I have only tried
g++ (and mingw for the win32 builds).
Please see the INSTALL file in the sources for some guidance on building Eliot.

Hi, I use Ubuntu 11.10 as a development enviorement. But there ara differences compiling sources tarball/tar.gz or clonning git repository. For me, It was easy to compile release sources tarball.
