[Dvipng] tex4ht with qtree

I am a newbie with both latex and linux, so apologies if this doesn't make sense...

I am having essentially the same problem as described in this thread:

That is, when I process, with tex4ht, tex files which use the package qtree, then the tree diagrams do not appear properly (lines missing from the trees, text listed in a column).

I am using Ubuntu 8.10 which comes with dvipng 1.11. As suggested in the thread, I went to:

http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/dvipng

But 1.11 seems to be the latest version.

Can you help?
