Hello all --
I've looked in the archives for people reporting issues similar to mine and
found two tips:
issue a hdparm hdparm -d 0 -r 0 /dev/hdb (or whatever)
upgrade to 2.4.18+ kernel version.
Well, I am getting the same problems that these two previous to me reported and
these tips don't seem to work for me. I'm on kernal 2.5.18-3 already and the
hdparm directive was accepted but I made another $4 coaster anyway.
Here is the error output:
BURN-Free is ON.

with a Pioneer DVR-104 which shows up in the dmesg like this.
hdb: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hda: 195371568 sectors (100030 MB) w/2048KiB Cache, CHS=12161/255/63, UDMA(100)
hda: hda1 hda2 hda3 hda4 < hda5 hda6 >
hdb: DMA disabled
Any ideas?
