How much does duplicity resist some data corruption?
not at all

Would it affect only the volume file corrupted, or even to files on other
volumes?
one defect volume currently renders the whole chain from that backup
forward in time unusable

Would it be worthwhile to discuss the use of something like par to generate
parity files to help alleviate this issue? It wouldn't be part of duplicity (it
shouldn't be) but rather as an add-on to a smart backup solution.

there should be a bug/question regarding this on launchpad. please comment
there if possible. this comes up from time to time and we should collect the
ideas ;) .. ede/duply.net
