mike,

i am working on the fileinfo for ssh and notice that the error currently is 
fatal and the upload is not retried. didn't we agree that it should be retried 
numretry times and only if all fail the error goes fatal?
all other occurences can as well be warnings don't you think?

this way we would find out if the error is line/connection related (success on 
retry) or not in one go.
