Ah, there we go. Installed via FreeBSD ports - duplicity --version duplicity 0.5.18So once the FreeBSD port gets updated, what is the purpose of the archive directory? Is it like the database that keeps track of what's been backed up?

Hi, What version of duplicity are you running? From what I can see, that .cache directory will only be created on duplicity version v0.6.0 or above.RichAH, now this list gets to be subjected to my idiotic questions :). I am not specifying an --archive-dir option and running duplicity as root with this command:duplicity --exclude-filelist /etc/exclude_rdiff --no-encryption -- tempdir /var/tmp -v5 /rsync://nas.wlan.silvertree.org::/backup/ duplicityIn reading the man page I expect to find ~root/.cache/duplicity but nosuch directory is created. What, exactly, is archive-dir for? Thanks :) Scott _______________________________________________ Duplicity-talk mailing list address@hidden http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/duplicity-talk_______________________________________________ Duplicity-talk mailing list address@hidden http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/duplicity-talk
