Why would an admin disallow duplicity? Or is it GPG?

duplicity

*a. * Deliberate deceptiveness in behavior or speech.
*b. * An instance of deliberate deceptiveness; double-dealing.

If you are just scanning through the filesystem you might tend to think of the strict definition when you see the archive filenames.
I think this would be a great chance to educate a sysadmin about how useful duplicity is for backups.

It has been my experience that the corporate world is now largely adminned by newly minted MSCE's that really don't know a manhole from a toothbrush. While a seasoned admin might be interested in duplicity, what it does, and how it can benefit mankind, a typical first level corporate admin these days likely doesn't know what a tarball or GPG is and will probably react on the somewhat misfortunate name alone.
