[Duplicity-talk] Feature proposal: Restore backup to tar archive

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to restore a backup not to a file system, but to a tar 
archive?

If not, I'd suggest adding an option like

duplicity [options] source_url --to-tar-file target_tarfile

Where target_tarfile could also be "-" which would mean stdout.

Thus, it would be easy to selectively get a backup and write it to tape, 
burn to CD or just archive on a second disc, _without_ having to write 
the whole backup chain.
