Thanks, I just saw it, and it is exactly what I needed.
The patch does not apply with the standard source tar release.
Tried the backend.py file and I could see the the catched exception and retry working just fine.
Great!

The patch says there are modifications in the cvs version. Is it stable? Anyone using it?
