Ran test case with latest CVS build on Xorg and watched the form for a couple 
of minutes and no noticable flicker each and every second.  There was 
occasional flicker however, but this behavior was not consistant between runs 
(appeared random).

The test case runs flicker free on Win32 - so more analysis is needed to find 
the real bottleneck (which is not Label control, I suppose).
