DotGNU Meet-a-thon ------------------ The DotGNU Meet-a-thon is a quarterly event that provides an opportunity take stock what has been going on in DotGNU for the quarter . It is a platform for developers to catch up with each other and to provide an open platform for new members to ask questions and find out how to join in. This is an event to talk about all the relevant issues and developments concerning DotGNU. This is a (36|48) hour (IRC|Jabber) meeting organized to interact with new people , discuss new ideas and in general, talk shop. The meet-a-thon is organized as a set of 4 hour long sessions through a convenient weekend of the quarter. The initial hours are reserved for the newcomers to DotGNU in general. The various developers will be present to give casual information about the respective DotGNU projects. These sessions are informal and revolve round the non-technical topics . After about 3-4 sessions the discussions are directed towards individual projects as and when the developers come online . The specific schedule is left to the conveniences of the developer and his timezones . This is also not strictly kept on topic and is treated as a sort of Q&A session for developer user interaction. Some of the key DotGNU members and others who find it difficult to ignore the excitement attend the whole meet-a-thon. The Precedent of the meet-a-thon was set last quarter with the first DotGNU meet-a-thon on the 16-17 weekend of March. The meet-a-thon was a definite success and was well received by the developer community. The emphasis of that meet-a-thon has been in bringing new developers and new projects into the DotGNU umbrella. The current meet-a-thon is aimed at the user community and the incremental development of the existing projects. Venue ----- The meet-a-thon is to held on the weekend of 29-30 June starting from 1000 UTC 29th to 2200 UTC 30th on (irc.openprojects.net#dotgnu | jabber.dotgnu.org#dotgnu) .
