Hello Jean,

I got a chance to drop dmidecode on our IPF boxes and build under
SLES 9 and Redhat Enterprise Linux 3. There are still problems with
dmidecode crashing a superdome. But, this is a Linux kernel problem, not a
dmidecode problem. These machines MCA when /dev/mem is accessed at the
dmidecode table addresses. Dmidecode si doing what it is supposed to on
IPF, so we are going to try to address the kernel issue here in the lab.

Thanks,
Chad

Yes they are. I gave Chad Smith from HP the opportunity to test CVS
version on some HP systems before the release, and were in fact waiting
for his reply. Chad, any news?

Unless problems are reported, I plan to release dmidecode 2.6 on Monday,
February 28th, 2005, or as soon as Chad confirms everything works fine,
whichever happens first.

Chad, note that you are welcome to subscribe to the dmidecode-devel
mailing-list if you are interested in the future developments and
release plans of dmidecode. This is a low-traffic, subscriber-only
list.

Thanks,
