true and wrong at the same time. Your statements are a bit absolute.

My vision? I want a complete desktop and develpoment environment that 
can be run on an x86 laptop, on a 64bit workstation or also a smaller 
Raspberry PI (e.g. piOS cuboid) and have a daily usable environment. 
Since I think that Objective-C and the AppKit API are the most elegant 
and nice solution around, I want to use that.
Both native developed solutions as ported Mac apps are welcome, but I 
want a whole "free" environment to be usable.
The "getting a Mac app to work on a non-Apple platform" is a very nice 
side-benefit, but not my primary goal.

Otherwise GNUstep has to become a second Cocotron for Windows and Linux.
Do I want to spend my free time, my fun and my patience just to enable 
Mac people to deploy their app (commercial  or not) on Linux? No! 
Although if my framework helps them, I'm fine with it.
Do Mac developers have in mind creating a nice Free environment ? No, 
they usually want their app.. and have it work in Gnome or Unity... not 
my (primary) goal.
Would a GNUstep environment benefit from ported Mac apps? for sure!
But my goal is clearly more far fetching than just a couple of ported 
mac apps, it is more organic.

So, I do have a vision and it is much more far-fetching than yours!
Does my vision enable people porting their Mac app to GNUstep and thus 
Linux, BSD and Unix? for sure! but it is much more than that.

Sorry Doc, but your vision is narrow...

May others have other visions? for sure... people on the project have 
different ways of having fun!

Do we have a lot of common ground to work on? for sure! Our meeting in 
Dublin clarified that!
