I am trying to build GNUMail on Solaris. I get
Linking bundle Viewing ...
Copying resources into the bundle wrapper...
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/usr/share/src/Mail/GNUMail/Bundles/Viewing'
Making all for app GNUMail...
Linking app GNUMail ...
Undefined first referenced
symbol in file
_res
/opt/GNUstep/Local/Library/Libraries/libPantomime.so
res_init
/opt/GNUstep/Local/Library/Libraries/libPantomime.so
ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to
GNUMail.app/./GNUMail
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [GNUMail.app/./GNUMail] Error 1
make: *** [GNUMail.all.app.variables] Error 2
I already posted on the GNUMail mailing list (yesterday) but got no
response so far. Has anybody on this list managed to get GNUmail
installed on Solaris or has an idea in which library _res and res_init
are defined? It must have to do with
#include <resolv.h>
since I get a compile error when I comment out this line. But this
still does not tell me how I have to alter the GNUmakefile to make the
build succeed.
