Of course they won't change the process just for a bunch of people,
and why should they (for exactly the reason mentioned in your last
sentence).

I'm one of those who do not really WANT to sign.

It has nothing to do with (not) getting credit, otherwise I wouldn't
send in patches from time to time if I was keen on getting credit.
(err? Oh well, you know what I mean).

No, it's more of a generic (genetic ;-) thing that I dread signing ANY
paperwork and I try to avoid it whenever possible.

Call me paranoid or what not, I don't care.
