I seem to recall that we agreed to make the hard-coded default location for the file configurable (by which I understood that it would be an option to
the configure script).  I'll check to see if that was done in the latest
patches applied.

Yes. That was done.
So is the way it currently works now documented anywhere? Does GNUstep actually honor the .GNUsteprc file in $GNUSTEP_ROOT?
