I may just be reposting what everyone remembers already but Alex Perez had approached the Fedora maintainers and apparently it is very hard to get a large new package into the core distribution right now. However, that is not to say that we (GNUstep) could not produce and maintain Fedora packages outside the core that are the latest release and "official" from a GNUstep perspective.
