FOSDEM Talks

Hi folks,

I'm starting to organize GNUstep's presence for FOSDEM 2005, and specially the talks part. The FOSDEM is the annual Free and OpenSource Software Developer European Meeting, held in Bruxelles at the ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) the weekend of the 26/27 of february 2005.

Basically, there is a lot of people that goes to this event, and most of them are developers. As such they are exactly the people we need to attract on GNUstep, that's why it's important to have a presence here and advertise and explain
as much as we can GNUstep technologies.
Previous FOSDEM were really interesting on this point of view, but we can do much better ;-)

What we're trying to have is a booth (for demos, etc.) and a developer's room -- both shared with the OpenGroupware.org project. We don't have a confirmation yet, but in order to have the developer's room, we need to give a list of the planned activities.

I think that having some talks would be interesting, presenting some works, software, parts of gnustep, ideas, etc.

Even if the FOSDEM seems still quite far, I must emphasis that time pass quickly, and moreover, that it's really not a good idea to plan things at the last minute (last year we were lucky to get a booth, but it was just that -- luck.
And the booth was not exactly in the best place ever :-).

So... if we want to have talks, we need to start a list of the proposed talks that we could give back to the FOSDEM guys.

I added a wiki entry here : http://wiki.gnustep.org/index.php/fosdem%202005
which explains a bit what we will do, who will attend the event, etc.

Everybody that intents to go to the FOSDEM is strongly encouraged to add its name (it will help us to see how many people we'll have..) And of course, everybody that would like to speak about GNUstep-related topics is strongly encouraged to add a talk proposal as well :-)

Thanks,
