Imagine I have only FreeSans font installed, no Helvetica. Will I see Helvetica font in the font panel? - If yes: What will happen if I use the Helvetica that is replaced in -back with FreeSans? What font will be stored in rtf/ps/pdf/other representations: Helvetica or FreeSans? - If no: I would suggest some automatical mapping of free fonts to standard (understand: wide spread) font names. What I am suggesting is that standard fonts should be presented to the user, while there should be a transparent font mapping somewhere in the gui. Font mapping should be done only internaly for gnustep and only on runtime. Stefan
